Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician (Electro-Mechanical) to support the reliability and performance of its manufacturing operations.

This role is dedicated to production equipment, with a primary focus on PVC extrusion lines and associated manufacturing systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues, troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and minimizing production downtime.

This position requires a strong industrial maintenance background with hands-on experience servicing automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Production Equipment Maintenance
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PVC extrusion lines and downstream production equipment.
• Service conveyors, cooling systems, vacuum/calibration equipment, motors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Perform rapid-response repairs to minimize production downtime.

Preventative Maintenance
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs on production equipment.
• Inspect machinery to identify wear, defects, and potential failures.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and repair documentation.
• Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.

Electrical & Mechanical Troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Repair motors, sensors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, seals, and related components.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and electrical modifications.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and workplace safety regulations.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely and in compliance with company standards.
• Report equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Team Collaboration
• Work closely with production personnel to resolve equipment issues quickly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and productivity.
• Assist with equipment upgrades and process improvements.

Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience maintaining production equipment and automated manufacturing machinery.
• Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and VFD troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of conveyors, bearings, motors, pumps, seals, and drive systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience maintaining PVC extrusion equipment or similar continuous manufacturing systems.
• Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A/309A) is considered an asset.
• Welding or fabrication experience is considered an asset.
• Experience with equipment installations and process improvements.

Note: An electrical license or welding certification is not required. Candidates with strong hands-on industrial maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation
Up to $30.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
• Monday to Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Permanent position
• Average 40 hours/week during peak season
• Average 32 hours/week during the winter season
• Overtime available based on production requirements
Benefits
• Vacation and statutory holiday entitlements in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act.
• All required PPE is provided, including gloves, safety glasses, and utility knives.
• Employees are required to provide their own CSA-approved safety boots and work tools.
• Health and dental benefits are not currently offered.
