Position Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled Handyman / Handywoman (Facility Maintenance) to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of its manufacturing facility.
This role is primarily focused on building and facility maintenance, including plumbing, minor electrical and mechanical repairs, welding, preventative maintenance, and general building upkeep. While you may occasionally assist with production equipment, your primary responsibility will be maintaining the facility and supporting a safe, clean, and operational work environment.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting a wide variety of maintenance issues, and takes pride in keeping facilities operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems and facility infrastructure.
• Complete general building repairs to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and overall functionality.
• Identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
Mechanical & Electrical Repairs
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Perform minor electrical repairs, including wiring, breakers, and control panels.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Conduct welding repairs and light metal fabrication as required.
Preventative Maintenance
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain maintenance logs and repair documentation.
• Assist in improving maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
• Wear required PPE and report any unsafe conditions.
Team Support
• Collaborate with production and maintenance personnel to minimize downtime.
• Respond quickly to facility-related maintenance requests.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Qualifications
• Previous experience performing facility maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting building systems.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Welding experience for repair and fabrication work.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation
Up to $30.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
• Monday to Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Permanent position
• Average 40 hours/week during peak season
• Average 32 hours/week during the winter season
• Overtime available based on production requirements

• Vacation and statutory holiday entitlements in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act.
• All required PPE is provided, including gloves, safety glasses, and utility knives.
• Employees are required to provide their own CSA-approved safety boots and work tools.
• Health and dental benefits are not currently offered.
