About the role
Account Manager – Strategic Accounts (Industrial/PVF)
Seybold International | Full-Time | Primarily Office-Based in Toronto, ON
Own key accounts. Build real relationships. Skip the cold-calling grind.
If you're tired of chasing quotas through high-pressure hunting and want a role built around long-term customer partnerships, this is it. Seybold International — a Canadian, family-owned industrial supply company with nearly 40 years serving the oil & gas, industrial processing, construction and infrastructure sectors across North and Latin America — is looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of strategic customer relationships as we continue to grow.
Why this role is different
This isn't a high-volume "always be closing" sales job. It's relationship management — "farming," not "hunting." You'll be the trusted point of contact for key North American clients, helping them make smart purchasing decisions through technical expertise and market insight, not sales pressure. If you take pride in customer service, enjoy solving problems, and want to build accounts you can own for years, you'll fit right in.
What your first 3–6 months look like
We invest in getting you set up to succeed:
Full onboarding into our products, ERP system, suppliers, and customer base
Hands-on support from experienced Account Managers as you learn
Real responsibility early — handling customer inquiries, quotations, and order workflow
A clear path to taking ownership of your own strategic accounts as your product knowledge builds
Where the role grows from there
Once you're up to speed, you'll:
Manage your own portfolio of customer accounts
Build direct relationships with global mill suppliers
Shape pricing strategy and analyze market trends
Represent Seybold with occasional customer visits across North & South America
Drive account profitability while keeping customers genuinely satisfied
What you bring
3–5+ years in Account Management, Inside Sales, or Industrial Sales
A college diploma or university degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
Background in industrial distribution, manufacturing, oil & gas, PVF, mechanical products, or similar (a strong plus)
Comfort with an ERP system (SAP, Epicor, Prophet 21, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar)
Solid Microsoft 365 and Excel skills
You'll thrive here if you...
Enjoy playing the long game with customers, take genuine ownership of your accounts, sweat the details, and would rather solve a customer's problem than push a sale. International experience in PVF, oil & gas, steel, process equipment, or supply chain is a welcome bonus.
What's in it for you
Competitive base salary up to $75K, plus performance bonus and profit sharing — recent account managers have seen total compensation in the $85K–$95K range.
Performance-based discretionary bonus
Profit sharing
50% employer-paid health benefits
Long-term career growth inside a stable, family-owned business
Travel: Mostly office-based, with occasional trips to customer sites across North and South America.
